DERMAL FILLERS

As we grow older, the natural loss of fat in our faces can result in volume depletion, sagging skin, and the emergence of fine lines and wrinkles. Over time, these fine lines can deepen into folds and furrows, such as nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and trans-jugal folds. This can give the impression of sadness, anger, or fatigue. It is crucial to address these concerns in a timely manner to maintain an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Dermal fillers are both an art and a science. Technically speaking, they consist of cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid (HA). When HA is injected, it moisturizes and lifts the skin, revitalizing its appearance and making it more attractive.

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural component of our skin tissue. Not only does it keep the skin well-hydrated, but it also helps to restore lost volume. By correcting and enhancing facial areas, it contributes to a more beautiful appearance. As we age, our bodies naturally lose Hyaluronic Acid, which can lead to facial sagging. The loss of under-eye hyaluronic acid can result in a tired look, but this can be easily corrected with fillers. Drooping lips and marionette lines can also create a sad expression. By injecting HA, the skin and soft tissues are lifted, effectively replenishing the lost volume caused by hyaluronic acid depletion.

Lip definition and lip enhancement can also be achieved through various methods. At our clinic, we provide a wide range of Dermal Fillers, such as Juvéderm (Voluma, Volbella, Volift, Ultra, Ultra XC, Volite) and Restylane fillers.

The Dermal filler procedure is comfortable and typically takes approximately 1 hour to complete. The results of this treatment can last anywhere from 1.5 to 2 years.

Our esteemed aesthetic dermatologist in Delhi, Dr. Rashmi Sharma, utilizes market-leading brands of dermal fillers. These fillers can be applied to various areas of the face including the eyes, mouth, cheeks, jawline, and lips. Dermal fillers are typically composed of collagen, sugar, hyaluronic acid, and even fat harvested from the patient’s own body. The thickness of the filler determines the depth at which it is injected into the dermal layer of the skin.

 FAQ about Dermal Fillers

How do we approach the use of dermal fillers?

When you come to us, we will first discuss your concerns to address any issues you may have regarding volume loss, facial enhancement, or beautification of specific areas. It’s important to understand that each patient requires an individualized treatment approach.

How is the procedure carried out?

We begin the procedure by taking pre-procedure photographs. Then, we apply numbing cream to the area, allowing it to take effect for approximately 30-45 minutes. Once the numbing has taken place, we clean the area using an alcohol swab. The targeted area is marked, and the filler is injected accordingly. If necessary, we may also perform molding to ensure proper distribution of the product. Antibiotic cream is then applied, and post-procedure photographs are taken. Overall, the entire procedure typically takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour.

What is the duration of the procedure?

The effects of dermal fillers can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. The duration of the results depends on various factors such as the type of product used (e.g., voluma or volite), the amount of product administered, the injection site, and the patient’s metabolic rate. Additionally, lifestyle factors such as exercise, hydration, and sun protection can also impact the longevity of the fillers.

Are dermal fillers considered safe?

HA is a natural element found in our skin. Replenishing and restoring it is crucial for maintaining youthful appearance, preserving skin hydration, and achieving volumization.

Is it possible to remove fillers if I’m not satisfied with the results?

The advantage of HA fillers is that they can be dissolved in case you are dissatisfied with the outcome or if you feel that you have been injected with too much product. Hyaluronidase is sometimes used to dissolve any bluish discoloration that may occur after under-eye fillers or the formation of lumps on the lips. Therefore, there is no permanent effect, and there is no need to be concerned.

Can fillers be administered during pregnancy?

We recommend avoiding filler injections during pregnancy.
